MORE THAN WORDS Lighting Up My Path

Helping young people navigate life isn’t always easy.

Whether they’re struggling with identity, self-worth, confidence, fear, anger, forgiveness, kindness, empathy, or belonging, growing up brings challenges that can sometimes feel overwhelming—for both young people and the trusted adults who walk beside them.

Drawing on years of walking alongside young people as a school chaplain, I have developed “MORE THAN WORDS: Lighting Up My Path”, as a reflective devotional that gently helps young explorers of faith discover what it means to follow Jesus in everyday life.

Through twelve engaging Trail Markers (chapters), each combining stories, practical object lessons, thoughtful questions, activities, and biblical truth, young readers are encouraged not simply to understand God’s Word, but to let it shape the way they think, the choices they make, and the way they live.

Whether shared at home, explored in a classroom, used at church, on camp, or enjoyed independently, MORE THAN WORDS provides a gentle discipleship pathway for young explorers—and for the trusted adults who walk beside them.

My heart passion in writing this devotional is that young people can learn in their early teens that following Jesus is about more than words.
